Located in the Vindhya Hills of Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh National Park is one of India’s most iconic tiger reserves. Once the hunting ground of Maharajas, it was declared a national park in 1968 and later became part of Project Tiger.

Bandhavgarh is often called one of the best places to see tigers in the wild because of its remarkably high density. The park’s core is divided into three main zones—Tala, Magdhi, and Khitauli—each offering its own charm. The dense sal and bamboo forests, interspersed with grasslands and ancient ruins, create a habitat teeming with life.

Tigers are the star attraction here, but the park is also home to leopards, wild dogs, sloth bears, sambar, chital, nilgai, and the rare four-horned antelope. Bird enthusiasts will find paradise too—over 250 avian species fill the skies, from majestic vultures circling cliffs to tiny flycatchers dancing in the undergrowth.
